King’s Trade Training Centre (KTTC) provides two educational pathways for senior students. Your pathway options are dependant on your year level of entry. Students must select one of the following two pathways:
- Sport Development Program - Year 11 and 12 students who are passionate about sport can achieve certificates and diplomas in sport and business with the option of direct entry in pre-approved Bachelor degrees at university.
- Trade Training - Years 10 - 12 students who are pursuing trade qualifications can get a head start on their career and graduate with a Queensland Certification of Education (QCE).
Sport Development Program

KTTC’s new Sport Development Program will launch in 2024 providing career options for sports enthusiasts. The two year program (Year 11 and 12) provides an engaging blend of certificate and diploma qualifications, hands-on sport experiences and collaboration with industry experts.
Graduating students will not be eligible for a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE), but they will have the skills and qualifications to commence work or undertake additional tertiary studies through direct entry to Gold Coast universities.
The Sport Development Program operates four days off-site and students must have their own transport to the venue. Year 11 students will attend Reedy Creek campus on Friday morning with the option to participate in APS sport in the afternoon. Year 12 students are encouraged to gain paid employment or industry placement on Fridays to add their education qualifications.
Sport Development Program students who complete the full two year program* will graduate with the following qualifications:
- Certificate II Sport & Recreation
- Certificate II Outdoor Recreation
- Certificate II Coaching
- Certificate III Fitness
- Officiating
- Diploma of Business
